What about this beast?

Warner and swasey turret lathe. Great production lathe if you have 5-6 steps to machine one part.probably not the best machine for a hobby machinist. Not sure of your needs? If you are making hundreds or thousands of one part it would probably be an awesome deal.

I had one in my shop downtown years ago, but it was too small for most of the turret lathe work that I had, got rid of it and bought a #4 W&S. It takes a lot of tooling to do jobs on one like that, what is there is not a lot there. The price is about (at least) twice too much. I think a turret lAthe is still an economic proposition for certain rather simple jobs in relatively small quantities, Hundreds, not thousandths.
