While towing this JD trencher from the back to the front of the shop I managed to graze the muffler with the loader bucket. Didn't leave a mark on the muffler, but snapped the the manifold off right at the outlet. Did a spark test, and it turned out to be cast steel, so V'ed it out, pre-heated, and welded it up in three passes penning it betwixt passes. Very tight areas to get to with the mig, but got her done. Made it look pretty (head porting practice) And on to the next issue. Mike

Good job Mike! Sounds like my projects lately. One step forward then fall back in a hole. I’ve had so many things die as I’m trying to fix or finish a project only to have to try and repair them later. My horizontal bandsaw, then tablesaw and now my old Senco crown stapler. All obsolete and don’t make parts for them anymore :/ fabbed parts for the bandsaw and tablesaw and got them back functional. The old crown stapler using part #’s found NOS on eBay and if I ever catch up it’s on the list.
