The photos are pretty self explanatory. The angle is old bed rail, approximately 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 by 1/8 and 16" long. The way cover is taken from a piece of shower liner that I picked up at a yard sale. I used two wooden blocks to make a reverse dovetail to hold the angle to the upper part of the vertical ways. It slides off and on easily if I ever need to remove it for any reason or to replace the neoprene.
The dovetails are 50º The wood blocks will be screwed to the angle to keep the bar in place .
Bar with the wooden dovetail blocks screwed in place. I gave them a soaking with linseed oil since that's what I had around.
Knee fully lowered and table fully forward. Measuring the length for the new way cover.
Measuring the shower liner.
Piece of aluminum to hold the way cover to the inside of the angle iron.
Way cover upper part fully assembled.
I better break this up to a 2nd post because of all of the photos. Nevertheless, it will be easy for anyone to duplicate with this number of photos. I did have remove the screws and nuts in the area of the dovetail. Three screws seems to be sufficient to hold the neoprene in place.
