Hello everyone. I'm looking at a Walker turner drill press on CL guy wants $225 it's a 120v "quick change chuck" can anyone tell me if this is a fair deal? Supposedly operates as it should.770817d4501a0af5b6edbde7ccc34c71.jpg

That appears to be a later model 15" after Rockwell (Delta) acquired Walker Turner. It's basically a Delta Rockwell machine with a different belt cover. Still a good machine and significantly better than anything new you could find today. In 1961 that machine new would have been about $155 adjusted for inflation that would be $1216 today. If everything works and nothing is broken I think it's a good deal.

Thanks for the help I'm second in line to look at it. Hopefully the first person falls through.

Walker Turner originally always made heavier duty stuff than Delta. Back in the 60's I used a WT 14" bandsaw. It was a lot heavier than a Delta, and had cast iron wheel covers instead of the pressed sheet metal ones of the Delta.

I have an old 20" WT drill press, and it is much nicer than a Delta.
