Walker-turner 900

Got the above DP with thread on collar chuck, the part on the spindle shaft that the collar screws onto is not staying put . It’s tight but it will slip down
Anyone know if they were pinned or just press fit ? Thinking about drilling thru both and using a 1/8” roll pin or steel pin.
I believe craftsman and clausing are the same , at least they use same chucks.
Any suggestions

I wouldn't be surprised if Walker-Turner used a tapered pin. That was my first thought when reading
your post although I know NOTHING about Walker-Turner drill presses. Good luck on it.
