Has anyone else on here tried the Vevor drill sharpener. I saw nothing but good reviews about it from several You Tubers that I highly respect so I finally bought one. My experience is it is easy to use and does a very good job. I finally sat down yesterday with mine and resharpened a good double handful of bits and I am pleased. Just wish they would do larger bits than the 13mm or as us Yanks say 1/2". Mr. Pete pointed out that their advertisement says they will sharpen drills and end mills, but he doesn't see any evidence of how to do end mills. Has anyone else tried to sharpen End Mills on one?

I've only seen the Mr Pete videos but I've been interested in getting one.

There does seem to be different sizes, the 13mm / 1/2" models Mr Pete reviewed and a larger 20mm / 3/4" model at about twice the price.

I bought one after reading the reviews, (something I normally don't do). Yes very impressed with it so far. Sharpened a 1/2 inch bit with it that started self feeding in mystery steel, with a pilot hole. Have never seen that before.
Had a Drill Doctor, that to be honest worked not bad when I got it, the last couple of years couldn't get it to grind correctly at all. Possibly wore the plastic parts with all the grindings it created?

Didn't @RJSakowski get one and do a write-up on getting it dialed in?

If he did I have not seen it. I would be interested in reading it...
If you search on drill doctor and rjsakowski, you will come up with my comments on the tool. I didn't do a specific writeup on the Drill Doctor. I bought the 750X. I sharpened over 100 drills with it.

The Drill Doctor will sharpen two equal edges and create a clean and sharp cutting edge. However, unless particular care is used, you can end up with a negative relief for the cutting edge and a drill that won't drill. Also, it indexes off the flute on the drill and all flutes aren't the same. A different flute width or helix pitch will change the indexing on the grind. It works, but it is finicky. I have tried making split points with it but they aren't right so I mostly grind a 118º point.

Doing it over, I would opt for the Vevor instead. It costs more but the aggravation of grinding a drill that won't cut doesn't justify the lower cost of the Drill Doctor.

I know there are some here that like the drill doctor units, but my experiences are very hit and miss.

The vevor has to be better than the drill doctor!

I loaned my drill doctor 750 to @SightlessSeer , but really don't care if it comes back.....

I thought you bought a Vevor? I must be thinking of someone else. *Someone* bought a Vevor and wrote up a thread about it.

You may be referring to this post.

I like to defend the mighty Drill Doctor, but RJ summed it up pretty well above. It's finicky but I know its tricks, so I get good results. But those Vevor units do look pretty darn nice, and I watched the Mr. Pete video a while back thinking they may be a decent unit after all. I continue to watch for anyone here who can give it a good review, and as always... pictures!

As for end mills, that's a different beast altogether.
