I'm not sure that's a chuck made by or for South Bend. There are no markings on the face indicating the manufacturer, or the company it was built for. Many "South Bend" chucks were actually made by Skinner. They carry both the South Bend and Skinner names. I have a 10" and a 12" 4 jaw independent chuck. They look identical to the one in the picture, except that they carry the Skinner ID.

There are currently several Skinner/South Bend chucks listed on eBay. They are all clearly labeled as to the manufacturer, and the machine company they were built for. There are even a couple 10" 4 jaw models. One with asking price of $199.00, and another that has only been bid up to $99.00
