Unknown Item in Box of tools

Does anyone know what these are for. I have several with bearings, a tab and knob. Some setup tooling?

Not a clue. What I see is - definitely a job specific fixture. Lots of time to build em, so there must have been a good sized run of parts.
Captain Obvious is my cousin, by the way.

They look kinda like shaft or lead screw end supports of some type... for what, no clue, but should be useful for some future project I bet.
