hey guys im new to machining, i was wondering what is this chuck used for / meant to do best?

Looks like a 4 jaw scroll chuck (all 4 jaws move in unison) but each jaw is then individually adjustable. Dial in your runout for a particular part, jaw by jaw, then open and close all at once to quickly change out parts. Kinda like a set-tru cuck.

Bet it's going to hurt when it drops on that guys toes ! I have 4 jaw scroll chuck , but that is different .

I have a skinner 4 jaw, its a 4 jaw with a scroll but it has moveable top jaws. Its kinda funky but kinda cool too. I forgot about It, has a threaded back that does not fit my lathe so i have never tried going on my to do list now
