I was able to purchase an original Deckel 'Spiralbohrerschleifeinrichtung' akà twist drill grinding attachment for my Deckel S0. I had notifications on all major auction and machine seller sites and there seem to be only 1 or 2 of those popping up per year. I also tried a 4 facet grind in the past which can be achieved on a dbit grinder without any accessories but I didn't like the setup times required and the results were not consistent, but this was clearly the operators fault.

The grinding attachment has a capacity of 3-18mm drill bits, also with morse taper shanks. I first tinkered around with old HSS drillbits and a CBN grinding wheel. I actually really like the results and once you develope a 'rhythm' for the setup it's rather quick, depending on how damaged the drill bits are. For drill bits up to 8mm the machine has enough power to regrind drillbits in one pass, no matter how damaged the drillbit is, so this is done in ~1-2 minutes including setup. For 9-13mm drillbits usually two passes for each flute are necessary so they take ~3-4 minutes and for everything above the machine has only enough power to remove a couple 1/100mm per pass so it takes some time.

Next up is my collection of dull carbide drillbits to be resharpened with a diamond wheel.

Hopping to run into one someday I don't seem to have that kind of luck.
