So I bought a enco turret lathe it is a Lht-25b. It needs a lot of clean up but the price was basically scrap price. I seem to be hitting walls at every turn so I figured I would come here and try and get some help.

The first thing is the collet closer. It would not budge. I tried to put a collet in and couldn’t get it to screw in. After getting the collet tube out I think this piece should move?

I have the manual for this machine but it doesn’t really clear this up. The handle has 2 shoes that push on the circled part but I can not get it to budge.

I also got a pile of tooling with it(I’m sure it will not be enough though) and one item was a geometric die head. This I can also not get to budge. I tried closing the chasers in the way I thought it should work but same problem almost no movement except a little vertical if I pull.

I don’t see how to take it apart to clean it up but I am ok with doing that if someone knows how.

Looks like you could make good use of an ultrasonic cleaner

Just a friendly reminder, how about some safety-toe shoes. Or better yet, edit your pictures.

I wasn’t working I just went down to take a picture to post. I had a vise handle hit me square in the big toe one time and never again will I work like that. But I fixed the pictures.

I have been thinking about getting one just haven’t done it yet. I have done a ton of restoration projects and it seems that it would come in handy.
