Treadmill motor on my small Lewis Mill.

Ok i need someone smarter than me for this one. I was just looking over my Oct/Nov issue of The Home Shop Machinist (which Home Depot has) and there is an article where a guy puts his old TM drive on his wood lathe. I always thought that you needed a jackshaft and some big pulleys but his just fits the stock TM drive pulley right onto his spindle pulley and he dosen't change anything. So i am going to add my larger TM pulley right on my spindle and leave the small pulley on the motor and give it a try. Nothing to loose but some time...Bob

This is how the magazine shows his lathe drive setup. Forgive my crummy pic but the orig drive on the left would be gone. The new TM motor would be on a riser with the small pulley it has now and the 4 1/2" TM pulley will be on the mill spindle. I just found all of my parts i just need to add it to my to do list...Bob
