Ho Folks,
I just published a new build to the "Alpha" program. It's mostly cosmetic tweaks and bug fixes. The few notable things are:
1. The app can now show sub-micron readings. In metric mode you can show 4 decimal places; in imperial mode you can have 5 decimal places.
2. Fixed (as far as I can tell) the issue where decimal digits disappear when there are two or more significant digits and a minus sign
3. Added a setting for the "Set Zero" button behavior. By default you need to long-press it to set absolute origin. This is how most digital calipers, etc. handle absolute origin. The setting (under UI preferences) allows you to mimic the behavior of Chinese DROs, where pressing "Zero Set" will zero out the current coordinate system.
4. Fixed the bug where the app would crash if you exit axis preferences when the resolution is left blank.
5. Added "Portrait" mode to the Edge Finder function, so the buttons are now visible when the screen is in vertical orientation.
You will notice that Android will ask you for "Internet" permission when before you can upgrade the app. This happens because for the plus version the app needs to have access to the back-end server to activate the Plus version and for parsing various layout file formats. None of this is accessible to the general public yet, but the code is already there (and can be activated if your email is allow-listed), so I need to declare this permission.
Finally, Alpha testing is now closed. I.e. if you already have access, you are in, but no new members will be added. Once I get the current set of features tested enough, I will give access to any current Alpha group members that helped with testing/debugging in the past.
Regards
Yuriy
