Hello all,

I just got the x-axis setup on my grizzly mill and am working on the Y.

I am curious if there is a way to keep the TouchDRO data on a Micro SD card?
I am thinking of the tool library, calibration history, other needed data, etc.

Also curious if you leave your TouchDRO module plugged in 24x7 or if you unplug the USB each day?

Do you have a second Touch DRO unit for your lathe?

Finally, also curious where you mounted your TouchDRO unit? To the machine, a wall, etc?

Thanks, Joe

Joe,
There is no way to back-up the data [yet] but there will be at some point.

I leave my scales plugged in 24/7/365. I do power the TouchDRO down at the end of a session, but I installed the recommended battery which keeps the memory powered seemingly forever. I also keep my tablet plugged in, just put it to sleep (Tab A 8.7", Android 11 with Auto-Update turned off).

I mounted mine to the back of the Mini-Mill power box with a longer than stock screw (see HSM Nov/Dec 2022):

I wasn't aware there was a battery backup. I will have to re-read the TouchDRO page.
Thanks for all the info.

I may have mis-spoken (help me out, please, @ycroosh): I have the iGaging V2 Adapter, which is set up for adding a battery:

The Shahe Adapter also supports adding a battery. However, I couldn't find any reference on the Glass/Magnetic Scales V2 Adapter Page that it will support a backup Battery.
Glass/magnetic scale adapter doesn't have battery backup. Glass scales don't have internal memory, so there is no point to powering them, and the main CPU will drain the battery of this size very quickly (in a matter of hours).

Thanks for the clarification, Yuriy!

Hi all . I run my Touch DRO box mounted about 10" to 20" away from the mill on the wall the wires from the igages are shielded ,
I all run a 5V power supply to all units also shielded . be careful with some work lights close to your TouchDRO,

I have a battery backup on mine (and tablet). Sure it will only last a few hours but it will cover those times when the power blips and you are right in the middle of something. :)
