I was at the local scrap yard and found a neat looking tool. The tool followed me home.

At first I thought the tool was part of a tensile testing machine but not sure anymore. I have not had my hands on or near a tensile test machine for 30 plus years and the memory is not as good as it once was so I did a search for tensile test tooling. Found the wedge jaws show in the following link: http://www.testresources.net/testing/wedge-grips/

The wedge jaw tool I found has the jaws joined by a 1/2 stud pinned at one end and threaded at the other. I assume that they could be used for whatever as is or could be unscrewed and used as in a tensile testing machine.

Does anyone have an idea if these are really for a tensile test machine of some sort or and idea what they could be used for other than setting there and looking cool?

Oh, I also found a pair of tin snips with a missing screw. They followed me home also. Put a screw in and adjusted. They would then cut paper so I assume they will cut sheet metal also. Charley Davidson was at my shop one day and complained about my tin snips not cutting well. He said he was going to give me a good pair. Charley, did you leave these at the scrap yard for me?:lmao:
