The lathe I just purchased (13x30) LeBlond Regal, came with some tooling. It has an Aloris QCTP with two BXA1's & two BXA2's. It also came with two 3/4" shank insert holders. One of them is not marked and the other is a Kennametal NDLPR-124D. I'll probably have to call Kennametal because this number does not show up on their website. I am guessing it's obsolete. The geometry on both holders are different and it looks like HSS inserts on both of them. Neither one has a hole for the insert. Any ideas. I am new to machining.

Do you have a picture? That might help, too. (I am no expert, I just know it's easier for others to help if there is a visual).

Kennemetal Top Knotches are basicly junk tools . If you need to dispose of them , I'll take them off your hands . :big grin: Seriously , Kennemetal makes some great cutting tools and I have quite a few . I know I have the inserts as well down the basement . :encourage:

L0 or a L00 spindle ?
L0. The lathe is standard shift. 3 hp, 3 phase motor. My shop has single phase so I purchased a Teco E510 and braking resistor for the drive and a L510 for the coolant pump. Ways and gears all look good. I haven't indicated yet. The only thing that is not working is the mechanical brake. The brake controller has the proper voltage and outputting to the coil brake which measures the correct ohms. Since I am incorporating a VFD with a brake resistor, right now I am not to concerned with it. ?? I like the lever control on it and incorporated the switching to the VFD through the drum switch. So far so good. Lots to learn. Thanks
