For my older lincoln tig machine:

I'm looking to replace my foot control with a hand trigger type device.....what type brand would you folks recommend?

I'm also looking to replace my argon gas hose. I would like to buy a really good well cased one that will last me the rest of my life.....what do you folks recommend?

What torch do you have? Remotes are stupid expensive for what they are...most are just basic electrical components (switch and potentiometer) yet are in the $250-500 range. I'd HIGHLY recommend trying before buying if you can.

I have the integrated slide-type from CK. I am not skilled enough to use it (yet?); I inevitably move the torch while adjusting the amperage; got pretty frustrated with it at the time and removed it.

I think I'd much rather have a tig button. I'm sure I'd still have issues because I somewhat death-grip the torch (noob). But the idea of not having to move anything back/forth seems like it would be much better at not introducing unwanted torch movement. My 2c. No affiliation.

It's a weldcraft.

What about the springloaded shaft that goes into the foot control and then has a slide deal on the torch so that you can use your foot or if you wish you can use a slide on your torch which in turn automatically raises the foot control without you having to use your foot

Yeah, price is tough to swallow. But if you're getting to a point where can only weld the item in-place (i.e. not on a bench/table): you will really want one.

If I weld off bench I use an on/off remote (those are cheap). But you can only get away with this for a given joint type in steel. Forget about an on/off-only remote for aluminum. (for simplicity I'll ignore other options like 4T, pulse, etc...)

Anyone ever use one if those switches that goes in the foot pedal and allows you to use a slide on the torch??

If memory serves me This Old Tony tried one. I could be wrong.
Edit:
Maybe this one?

Well I'm thinking the tigbutton but I'll have to save up for it and there is 50 jrh barrel blank ahead if it.

Anyone know of a real good heavy duty argon gas hose with a heavy duty casing.
