need to do internal threading and almost bought one from arther warren but I noticed it said for 3 to 36 pitch threads, I'm doing a 5/8 24 with pitch of .5979 to .5949 so I guess it won't work. Any recommendations on where I can get something that's not to expensive? I have a 7x12 and 12/36 lathe and would like to be able to use on both if possible

Thanks

I'm confused. That threading tool will accommodate 3 to 36 threads per inch. A 5/8-24 thread should be no problem with 24 threads per inch.

Where did your "pitch" numbers come from? A 5/8-24 has a pitch of .0417.

That would be pitch DIAMETER, not pitch.

Lol, I took the value from the machinist hand book WITHOUT doing any math to get the correct pitch
Thank the lord I don't do this for a living. Lol
Thanks for the help

This might be a problem, Minimum bore 1 3/8"

Contents:
1 bar 1/2 inch shank 5.0 inches overall length
Minimum bore: 1.375 inch
For 8 through 36 pitch 60 degree threading
End pocket: offset for OD and ID threading

Your tool is going to be entering a hole at most .590 in diameter, The bar and cutter must be able to enter that hole without touching at any place.

The other tool is for external threading, no problem at all there.
