Threading die handles derusting with vinegar.

Couple of months back i bought couple of threading die handles with some rust on them, and one had an mismatched handle, so i decided to try socking them in clear vinegar. Which works surprisingly well, only thing i unexpected when i went to clean the threads for the new handle, broke 2 taps, seams to be very hard steel.
