Thinking Of Getting This Lathe...

That's a beautiful machine. I own several Jet machines and they are all top notch. To be fair I have not owned a Jet metal lathe but for that price I would not hesitate. Good luck with your decision.

I like my Jet, I have a late 80's GH-1340. Been a good lathe. That one looks like it has the cast iron base, much better than the sheet metal one.

Eddy, I had a Jet GHB-1340A for about 5 years. Never had any problems with it at all, it had the sheet metal stands and no brake but everything else looks like the one you are looking at. Gave $4500 for mine new and sold it for $3500.00 a few years back.
 
very nice lathe.
i don't have experience with their 1340 but if the quality is anything like my 1236, i'd do my best to get it.
