So i bought a vintage Tester horizontal band saw. I stripped and repainted it, changed out the motor from a 3/4hp 110v to a 230v 1hp 3 phase, added a digital tach with an inductive prox and 3 trigger points on the drive wheel, wheel is 10.625 diameter so the tach should read 11.120 in per trigger as 1 rpm or 33.36in per rev of the driven wheel, close enough that i can call it 3fpm vs 3 rpm. I have installed a TECO vfd, push button start, and push button stop, and a remote pot to adjust speed. The saw originally had a toggle switch that was actuated when the saw cut thru the material and tripped the switch, what i want to do is replace the toggle switch with a prox sensor that in turn acts like pushing the momentary stop button. Can i wire the NPN N.C prox in series with the momentary N.C stop button? or will there be some issue with lifting the saw off the prox that would cause it to restart, or will it be ok in that it would need another start pulse to restart?
