I'm new to the forum and machining. I recently acquired the Taig from a clockmaker's estate and have been cleaning it up and inventorying/understanding all the parts that came with it. It is apparent I am missing a circular mounting dovetail piece that mates the topslide to the crossslide. Taig Tools website does not list it as a separate purchase-able item and they have not responded to my email inquiry yet. Does anyone know of another source? I suppose I could try my hand at making it if I had a plan drawing. Thanks, Steve

The piece I am after mates the topslide base to the cross slide t-slots. I think this is what it looks like and is called a t-nut swivel mount?

I don't see it on the exploded view.

Thanks for the video link. I will check that out.

I called Taig Tools and talked to Craig. The part number is 1200-B Compound Clamp Set and still available.

In all my dealings with Taig, the customer service has been great.

I’m sorry I missed your post earlier. I also have a Taig lathe with the top slide, so I might have been able to help. I’m glad to hear you found the part without having to buy the whole assembly. FYI, I bought mine years ago from Nick Carter, who is a Taig dealer. His website is quite comprehensive, and he’s very knowledgeable about everything Taig. He’s always been helpful to me, so it might be worth checking out.
