Sub frame tie-down clamp

Some friends and I are going to ride forest service roads from Easton Washington up to the Canadian border in August, We will be camping 3 nights on the way there and back. I bought some soft bags that I can tie on my motorcycle but don’t have very good attach points, so I came up with this clamp with a swiveling D ring, I made the D ring and pin but haven’t started machining the clamp yet. I drew everything up using Alibre CAD.

I might think about selling them if it works :biggrin:
 
That can be used for a tugger strap as well. Don't remember where they anchor the actual 'Tugger'. I guess you would have to call it something else
 
I finished the sub frame tie-down clamp. Pretty happy with it except for the paint job, It looks worse than the $99 special at Maaco:biggrin:
