Craftsman made some pretty rugged stuff. One of my favorite tools is a Craftsman WWII era scroll saw I picked up at a garage sale for $20. It has a very deep throat(24” I think), smooth action, built-in blower and is built like a tank. I tore it down and added a variable speed DC motor. My daughter likes to use it but is a bit afraid of it. The variable speed DC motor slows it down but maintains the torque to cut. Also built a butcher block-style stand for it. Anyway, nice tool, will certainly outlast me. I hope the horizontal band saw finds a good home.
Not a great picture but the only one I have on file. Try to ignore that I am cutting an Orvis fly rod!
