For those members interested in small steam (air) engines designed for benchtop sized equipment and made from bar stock, please visit my site at:
www.workbench-miniatures.com.

There is much more information, pictures, even videos of each design there. Any questions can be directed to me there or via personal messages here at H-M.

I have plans for two of Bill's engines and am working on one now. His plans are very well drawn and his machining instructions very clear. I'm happy to recommend his designs.

Thanks knudsen, most of these are geared for the newcomers to the hobby...bar stock material, straightforward geometries, etc. though there is plenty of creative room for more experienced modlers to take the basic designs and truely make something that is their own. I hope to have the Briggs 6S plans offered on the site over the summer as well.

Regards,
Bill

Thanks for posting this it saves me a lot of time. Next fall Aug. 2012 I am teaching an advanced machining class for design students. I want to do a bar stock steam engine as the main project. These look perfect. Which one would you recommend for a beginner for around 100 to 150 hours work time?

Thanks,
Jeff
