In one of the tool boxes I bought a while back, I found 2 of these. One was in the the original box and is super handy. The other one was in the same drawer but it's missing the tip. I think I'll call Starrett tomorrow and order a couple of tips. Buying from other places seem hit or miss on getting the right thread size.

I do have a question though. What is the difference between the 18A, B and C ones?

I saw the 18A listed and 18C listed but didn't see the 18B. The catalog I think I have is at least 25 years old.

The A
5"/125mm Length, 9/16"/14mm Punch Diameter
The B
Not Listed
The C
5-1/4"/130mm Length, 11/16"/17mm Punch Diameter

I found my catalog and it shows 18B. It's listed as the same dimensions as the C but the C has more punching power. Thanks for the help. 20210216_114514.jpg

Looked at their website, seems the point as shown has changed to where you replace the entire point and not just the tip.

That center punch attachment 18S seems very handy. To bad they don't show as still being available.

Of the two (18A vs 18C) which seems to be the most popular. I have a knock off but it often won't strike when pushed down. Need to order a new one.

I ordered a new tip from Starrett. They're just a little over $6 so I ordered two to have a spare. I've never had one until now but I really like it so far.
