SSI disability timeline

Anyone have experience applying ?
Boss wants me to go on disability, due to being a safety liability at work since my second TMA Sunday.

You will need to jump through all of the hoops to prove disability, the Doctors, and specialist must deem you disabled. My brother took his Doctors note to SSI, and was told that is not enough to qualify. I don't think the boss claiming liability will get you there. You probably already know it, but I just wanted to mention it. Good luck.

It's a long process that can take months even years. You must be 100% disabled by their standard which is rather vaguely defined and why so many are denied. I think it took my brother 18 months and 2 denials and he's already a 100% disabled vet on disability, crazy. Until he got to the judge on appeal then it took like 2 minutes to get approved.

if you are serious about applying , get a lawer to apply for you.

Not sure about current rules but 10 years ago you could not get the lawyer until you were rejected twice. The lawyers are not cheap.

After my brother was rejected twice and finally went before a judge, he didn't have a lawyer and the judge asked him if he wanted to stop and bring one in before proceeding.
