I have a 10"x4', 1 3/8" thru hole SB lathe model CL8187A. After doing some research, I found out that the serial number is supposed to be stamped on the end of the way. But there is nothing there, nothing on the inside of the casting either. I found UH105L stamped on the lower back corner of the head stock, but means nothing to me.

Is there any other place that I should be looking for a serial #?

Is there no serial # because the way assembly may have been replaced?

It has a 1 3/8" thru hole, does that indicate that it is a "heavy" model?IMG_1372.JPGIMG_1373.JPGIMG_1371_LI.jpgIMG_1370.JPGIMG_1374.JPG

It should be stamped between the front vee and flat ways above the lead screw bracket, at least that is where it has been on all the SB lathes that I have seen.

It is a Heavy 10L, though.......

The third picture appears to show where the serial number should be.

The 1-3/8 spindle bore makes it a Heavy 10L.

Could the bed have been re-ground ?
Look at the 4th pic, looks like a gap is being filled in the flat between the ways.
