I will kick it off with this photo of the employees of the South Bend Lathe Works, circa 1910...

Enjoy!

Best,

This is my 1922 9'' O series lathe.

I wonder if any of the people in that 1910 photo helped build my lathe?

This was my first lathe, a 9x3 built in 1935. I bought it from a friend whose father was in the process of moving to assisted living. It was in kind of rough shape, having been unused for several years. It also had quite a bit of wear. This machine fulfilled a bucket list item of learning to run a lathe. I had a lot of fun with it, and made some useful stuff. I sold it on and replaced it with a PM 1236 about four years ago.

SB9A that I had in the early/mid-2000s. Large dials, taper attachment, 3C collets and more. I had fitted it with a VFD. Made some nice stuff with it. Traded it and quite a bit of restoration labor on a pre-WWII Rivet 1020.
