Hello, I recently purchased a extra used lantern tool post holder, and the slotted piece was larger than the original so the beveled washer would not fit over it. I thought I could just turn it down a bit to fit, but when I tried, I could hardly scratch it using a cobalt cutting bit. Anyone know if this SB lathe tooling is hardened as a final step. Grinding at this point would seem to be the other alternative. So whatcha think. Never too old to learn.
