It's a 3/8" square bar bent around a 1" diameter roller pin (H.F. compact bender), then heated ("map-gas" torch) and bent / beaten to get the 90 degree bend, then drilled and tapped 1/4-20 for the hex-socket head screw. So far it has worked great in my Atlas 618 while cutting steel.

Considerable nift.... and conspicuous spiff.

Simple is elegant.
 
Some kool out of the box thinking there...I like it!
