I have a line On a jet 16 bench top mill,mt 2 model I think I can snag it he says itis in good shape and was only used for light gunsmithing. Not sure of the hp. on the motor. I will go look at it tomarrow. it comes with a homemade stand I think it might be wood. some mills and some fixture plates. any thoughts? I know the round column is a draw back but I want a little more power than my Hi torque LMS gives. Any mods that can be done to help with round column alowing the head to shift while moving up and down? What would be the need for this swing?

Thanks Mark

I have an Enco 105 Mill/Drill and just re-align my work if I move the head up or down.

Since you have asked the question about modifications to hold alignment I don't believe I have seen anything about it. Having said that I hope some one will present their method of doing it.

Have a good day

I have a Jet 16. Mine is a MT3 and made in '83 I think. In three years of use, I think I had a problem where I had to move the head to finish a project only once. I've got it at a height now where it works for what I do. In our area, machines don't come up for sale often so they bring a premium. Still, I got mine for $450 and am pretty happy with it.

Some others have come up with creative solutions
