I have not ordered tools from this company before. Is anyone familiar with this company and know how they handle shipping cost?

Some companies jack up their shipping prices to make more money like some of the Flea-Bay vendors. I had an bad experience with one tooling company that advertised in one of the hobby magazines. They charged about $15 for a book shipment that was clearly marked on the outside of the package as costing them about $4 to ship. I did not buy from them again.

I dislike that practice too. It's a few months since my last order which was for a couple of grinding wheels and a vise.
I don't remember what the shipping was, but I was happy it wasn't a ripoff or I wouldn't have placed the order.
It came FedEx or UPS so I don't know what it cost them vs what they charged me, but like I say I was happy with the total cost, and I'm hard to please! :nono:

Benny why not check and see if there is a store near you. I know there was one in Tampa and I hope its stell there next time I go down there.

I just got a 2 lb order UPS ground from a state in the same region. The place doesn't list shipping charges but tags it on later and puts it on the invoice unless you demand the shipping charge upfront. I figured how bad can it be? They charged me 12$ for UPS ground. To add insult to it all they packed it in a USPS priority mail box. So they abused me on the shipping and stole the box from the post office.

I bought the items from them as they were the only people I found who had them. I'll not order anything from them again.

I've bought many times from Wholesale Tool in the past, I believe they are the cheaper step-sibling of ENCO. I do not really remember any negative thing about them, but then I always call and place the order and get clarifiaction on the shipping and ask if there are any other options available as I am not in a hurry.

Just last week I wanted to order some materials from one of the online material suppliers but their overpriced shipping nixed my lightweight purchase and they offered no alternative shipping options. I try to control my purchase decisions more closely based upon total cost when I can but sometimes there are no other choices.

Good Luck with your purchases!

Its really a bad place to go for a tool junkie, But I like going there.

Paul

Who are you calling a tool junkie?:nono: I have it under control.:lmao:

I have not looked for store locations for Wholesale Tool around here but I will.

Thanks, for the replies about online buying shipping cost experiences. With the high sales taxes here in Tennessee I figure that if shipping cost do not exceed 10% then it is free when buying on line. My experience with the WV tool company where the shipping charge was twice the cost of the book and their ship cost was 1/3 the charged cost did not taste all that good.

Yes, it wouldn't have mattered which store you called, if they have a store or business in the state they're shipping to then they have to charge tax.
