Shim Stock Punch Set alternative

I have this shim stock punch set:




which works very nicely. But several times now I needed to punch a hole that is further from the edge of the material than this set allows.

Do you know of a set (similar in design) that has a larger capacity?

I use a " circle and round disc cutter set" to punch round holes/discs/washers in thin Aluminum and Copper , it might help you with what you're planning to do:

It looks like all the punch sets that work like yours (punch guide and die bolted together, separate loose punches) have pretty much the same depth problem. Whitney-style punches, such as

are limited by the throat depth of about 1 3/4" and maximum hole size of something around 5/16"

have deeper throats (~3 1/4") and punch diameters up to 7/16".

For larger holes, I'd suggest starting with whichever one of these you can get, then increasing the hole diameter with a step drill.

Why not just make your own? Since you have the punches just buy some plastic/metal and have at it.
