Hi,
Here is a pdf of a 1918 Shepard Lathe Co. 12 inch lathe. I'm working on one just like it right now it features pretty normal operations other than the leadscrew drive system. If anyone wants more info I have some and will share, just ask.

That's like mentioning a surprise gift for someone, and then saying "it's a secret!"... You can't do it!

Ok, so here's the patent with pictures for the leadscrew. The whole gear cluster slides on the leadscrew instead of like the typical Norden system. sorry to have left you hanging.

Not everyone viewing this site is equipped to handle images in the format of pdf files, especially people who aren't using personal computers. Tablets and i phones usually don't know what to do with them. Also, I tried once to put a drawing on this website in pdf format; and the site wouldn't upload it as a viewable image, although the instructions said it would. I never figured out if the problem was me or it. I've been on the receiving end of this a lot. I developed ingrained habits when my work had strict procedures for chain of custody transfers of secure e documents. Now my younger relations with their newfangled gadgets have forced me in my old age to learn new tricks since they couldn't look at any of the images I tried to send. Nice pics by the way.

Thanks to JohnG, telling me I didn't put in pics didn't help much, your explanation helped greatly.
So I converted the PDF's to JPG and here they are.
To those using devices that aren't able to handle a file type, let someone know what the problem is and they would probiably be happy to fix it if they can.
