I have a septic system, so I don't want to hurt my bacteria in the septic, and I don't want to kill my OAK tree.
Anyone that has used a chemical to prevent roots from re-growing that has septic.. I'd like to hear from you. What chemical did you use, and did it harm either the tree or septic. How long ago did you use it. How many treatments did you need to do.

Copper sulfate, 1/2 cup down the toilet and in the distribution box twice a year. Recommended by my plumber after the last root cleanout. It doesn't dissolve the roots, just kills them. They dissolve on their own eventually.
