Other than being a general pain by butting in on a lot of threads, there’s not much I can do until after the shoulder surgery & recovery other than add to tooling/metrology collection for future projects.

However, as long as it’s not raining or too cold I still take daily walks around the neighborhood, so I thought I’d start a new thread.

Today I Saw:

Earlier this week a crew took down some large trees on this lot, making a mess and noise. They were back today grinding out the stumps. The dude with his back to me is operating the grinder by remote control, which I haven’t seen before. I’ve seen remotely controlled cranes & concrete pumps and finish-graders controlled by laser levels (although these did have an operator in the cab), but this was the first small equipment use.

[Can you tell I’m getting bored?]

I've seen them controlled with a wire connected remote before . This was a wireless remote ? Nice looking logs there also . :encourage:

Yes, wireless: little (maybe 8 x 6 x 4?) box hanging from his belt. Watched him raising & lowering the disk, moving side to side and driving it around. For moving it between stumps he got back in the seat, otherwise it would have taken forever.
