Hi All

I recently acquired a QINGHAI NO.2 QH2-330 Gap Bed Lathe.

I am looking for any information I can get on the machine, a manual, and somewhere to buy parts. I saw a post somewhere saying that some random Chinese Lathes are called Birmingham Lathes? If so that could help me source parts (brake disc, gaskets, seals, etc).

Some potential specs I have been able to find online:

Swing: 13"Centers: 40"
Spindle Bore: 1.5"Swing Over Cross Slide: 8"
Power: 3 Phase - 3 HP*Spindle Speed: 120 - 2,000 RPM*
Weight: 1,500 lbs.*
* = Confirmed

I've never used a lathe much less worked on one but I intend to bring this old girl back to life. From what I was told by the seller it sat partially covered in a building with a caved in roof for a decade.

I've spent a couple hours googling but haven't found a manual or much of any information (using Qinghai, QH2, and 330).

Overall the machine seems to be in pretty good condition. It runs but there's some surface rust and it seems to be leaking oil from everywhere that's supposed to hold it.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

You're going to need to look at Taiwan clone lathes to find a manual- like Acra, Excel, Trump, Victor, maybe even Grizzly or Jet. Most of the designs originated in TW and were picked up by the Chinese. Look for similar transmissions and heads, and you'll find a match.

Here's an example of a clone, I don't know the brand:
