I am looking for my five year old thread on putting a VFD on my 10 Hp quincy. I know most of the thread concerned issues with the unloader.

Can't seem to bring up any old stuff with advanced search. ie users name and quincy , or user name and unloader. My trouble? or site issue?
 
No site data has been lost, but the search index is being troublesome.

As a temporary work around can use a google or other normal web search page. (I use duckduckgo so google can't track me)

In the search bar enter:

<search terms> site:<site name>

So in this specific case enter:
VFD 10 Hp quincy compressor site:www.hobby-machinist.com

Here's what I see:

That gives me this:

as the first hit.

Thread 'Understand unloader valves'

I bought a nice ten horse quincy air compressor at auction. Worked there, not when I got home :(

First was electrical. installed new contactor and relaced burnt up wiring. Still no joy.

Went completely through head. Removed ten pounds of burnt carbon several reed valves and springs. Man was it a dirty mess. Still does not run, but I am close.

The unloader valve is not releasing. If I undo the unloader valve air line at the blue arrow in the top of quincy pic, the compressor begins pumping.
