I am in need of the 80T idler (the Ø5/8 smooth bore, not the keyed leadscrew gear). I would apprecaite any leads.
2 birds! I have an 80/63 transposing set. It lives on the lathe full-time. I use the 80 as an idler for general use and inch threading, turn it over and readjust the banjo for metric threading.Maybe? Use the 80T straight through rather than the transposing step-down.
That would be an option, if I had one.SOUTH BEND 9/10K METAL LATHE METRIC TRANSPOSING CHANGE GEAR 80/63 3d Printed | eBay
(Your existing gear it replaces should be 80 also but does not have to be.). The traditional pair of transposing gears have 127 and 100 teeth. The rest of the gear train simply multiplies or divides that new pitch value to get to the desired pitch.www.ebay.com

I believe Randy was suggesting you buy the transposing set in the link and use the 80t as the idler without engaging the 63t.That would be an option, if I had one.
