I picked this up earlier this year and it was a fairly grimy and rusty specimen. After a total teardown and restore down to the bolt heads, it's starting to come together. Still need to finish assembly and build a stand for it. This one will get a stand made from 8020 extrusion. Just thought I'd share. The pics resized for some reason and do not show the entire shot.

looks great! is the engine turning done with valve lapping compound and a wine cork? it sure looks good..
 
A buddy of mine did that and he used an aluminum dowel in a drill press. On the end he had glued a leather patch. As he turned we would spinkle sandblasting sand under the pad to create the pattern. There are lot of methods though as you know.
