So I have been working on rebuilding this tiny surface grinder. I paid a little to much for the shape it was in. After getting it home I realized it is way to small for the work I want to do. There was still a lot of fun to be had in rebuilding it.
The electrical was so bad, somehow in travel it didn’t work anymore. All of the shafts and bushings were incredibly wore out, they all got remade. The rack and pinion driving the table needed replaced. The leadscrews in this machine are square threads so that was a challenge to remake but it was done. I really wish I had experience scraping ways because they all could use it.
I am going to post this machine for sale but I’m the mean time I will use it. Does anybody know a good source for the 4” wheels it takes?
Here are some pictures, I did t take many pictures while machining but there are a lot of before and after.
