Would anybody know what the thread size is for the saddle’s taper attachment bolt holes?
I’ve gone thru my nut and bolt cans without any luck. I’d like to bolt a piece of aluminum angle here to have something to which I can mount a gooseneck lamp on.
A silly question, I know, but the hardware store is a bit if a drive. I need to pick up some thread gauges as well…
Thanks for any help

Not really enough info here for anyone to help . Can't you just measure it ?

The parts list shows it as a 7/16" x 14 x 1-1/4" for my lathe. But @mmcmdl is correct in that more info is required. Like size, model, year, etc.

Sorry bout that. That was a pretty sloppy question.
It’s a 1947 9a. Specifically the rear of the saddle. There are two tapped holes that have been faced? I’m guessing it’s where a taper attachment bolts to?
I’ll try the 7/16”x 14. Thanks!

I attached a dial indicator mount on those holes of my 9a. I believe they're 3/8"x18 thread

The holes on mine (about the same age) are 3/8-16, but there's a caution-

You MUST figure out the length BEFORE you tighten it. The holes are "through holes", and while the bolt must be long enough, the holes go all the way through, and it's not very far before the bolt will screw right into the bed ways. The ways are not hardened, so making contact would be a problem.

thanks guys.
Adding a lamp was on my to-do list for the ol girl. Saved a gooseneck going to the dumpster and it’s made a nice improvement while I learn.
Much appreciated
