Rotary Table - 8" Van Norman - $150 (Sacramento, CA)

Aww geez, another basket case where somebody takes it apart and expects you to figure what they lost. Seemed like such a good deal until then.
 
They are a good rotary table. A lot lower in height than most rotary tables. Might be a good project,or a nightmare depending if all the parts are there.
 
I’ve never bumped into a Van Norman RT just know the name and everything I’ve ever seen was quality stuff that seemed to never be a knock off of another design. That’s why I was excited as $150 seemed like a good deal. And obviously he thinks it is but those RT’s are pretty rare but all it takes is some special tiny part and it’s now a nice boat anchor. I wonder what scrap price would be? I’m pretty sure less than $150, and that’s what it would be worth to me. I wish that became the unwritten law, basket cases are worth scrap price, period. Then at least there would be incentive to put it back together.
 
Unfortunately many people have no idea of what scrap price is. Aluminum is half what it was 6 months ago.
