I just acquired this machine today:)) and I have a few questions. 1st - how can I date the machine by serial number or model number? The machine is very clean & tight with original paint. The gent I got it from has had it 25 - 28 years didn't use it the last 20 years. I would like to have the variable rate power table feed - can this item still be acquired? Can another type of power drive be adapted? Are there any quirks in using this machine? I failed to take a picture of this machine to be included with my questions

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Here is a photo of mine. His probably looks about the same.

I just bought mine a few months ago so I don't have the answers to your questions.
It is my first mill, and seems to work well for me. They have a good reputation, from what I could find online. One thing I really h like is it is single phase 110 or 220 so I don't need a phase converter. I have it plugged into a 110v outlet for now, and plan to run a 220v circuit for my lathe and mill in the near future.

That is a very cool mill. I'd trade my Atlas MFC with vertical head in a heartbeat for one of those. It looks like it would be way easier to move than a Bridgeport if I was lucky enough to find one. Now I have a new dream machine to look for!!

It is very easy to move. Here is a photo of me moving mine. If you are really going to look for one you may want to keep an eye out for a Rockwell 21-122. It looks almost identical but has a built in horizontal mill as well.

The one slight drawback I have found in this mill is that it does not have a quill feed.
