Right angle attachment for PM-25MV?

Well, it's a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone ever came up with a right angle attachment for PM-25 or a similar size bench top machine. I really started feeling the limits of my machine, for my next project I have to make some tricky cuts and I ran out of the Z-axis travel. So I'm thinking maybe I can make a right-angle head, or adapt an existing one? The Bridgeport one seems to be a bit oversized, is there any other option?

i'm curious as to how the right angle head will help with z axis travel? without excessive loss of rigidity?

Well, I can then have my part set up horizontally in a rotary or dividing head and machine the feature I need.

so the rotary or dividing head is eating up to much of your spindle to table clearance?

on my g0758, i took the z axis slide off and turned it over getting me about 4" of z envelope and it is a completely reversable mod, it takes a 1/2 hour. the PM-25MV is based on the same Wiess design so my work for you also. a right angle attachment on a PM-25MV is going to be problematic IMO due to the construction of that machine.

Correct, if I have a rotary, and a chuck on top of it, and a fixture on top of it and then my part set up in the fixture, I run out of z-axis. But I could have the same set up horizontally and with the right-angle attachment and a cutter spinning along the X-axis I would have plenty of room.

Hmm, interesting, I will think about it. Do you see any loss of rigidity with this setup?

Lots of room and very little rigidity IMO, the rotating joint on these machines are the weak link and the right angle will magnify that issue.
