EDITOR'S NOTE: This thread was deleted, twice, because it shows unsafe and perhaps downright dangerous practices. We take our responsibility very seriously here at H-M to screen out such practices, particularly insofar as many of our members are new home shop machinists, who are here to learn the proper way of doing things. When we become aware of such thread(s), we alert the poster to reconsider posting such practices, for the safety of all forum members. If that does not work, then we act to remove the thread from the forum. Our terms of service permit us to do this, but more importantly, we feel a moral obligation not to present unsafe practices here, so that injuries may be avoided. We apologize for any inconvenience. This thread will now be locked.
A convex end mill cuts the proper shape for a flute
Cylinder bolted to block acting as a jig. Aluminum inserts machined to fit the cylinders protect the chambers from the threads and make it possible to repeat the position when the cylinder is rotated.
Spent the rest of this afternoon setting up the work on the table. tomorrow I will flute the cylinder.
