Anyone know of any good places to get, buy, or download reference material ?
A specific example for me is:
Bought a DTM AXA QCTP for my SB9. I still need to get tool holders for it, but want to pick up some cutters and stock cutter balnks. Problem is I'm not sure what size(s) of cutters will fit in the holders.
I know larger sizes tend to flex less as they are more rigid, but not sure if smaller cutters have better uses for some situations or not.

You probably should buy some cutter holders from the tool post manufacturer - DTM. If you are planning to use HSS bits I would probably go with mostly 3/8 and and maybe some 5/16" blanks.

Unfortunately that is no longer possible. DTM is no longer in business. As far as I'm aware some employees of Aloris left & created DTM, located in the same city as Aloris. For whatever reason, retirement or unsuccessful DTM has closed their doors. The only way to get DTM holders is second hand or from the ebay seller who aquired the last of DTM's inventory. Not sure if he still has any left. That is the person who I purchased my DTM QCTP from, at the time he sent me a inventory list of what he had but that was years ago.

As mentioned I used to have a DTM so I can add input. I had the same size TP as yours, AXA size which is p/n TP65A for DTM. DTMs use the industry/Aloris standard. So your TP65A can use any AXA or China 100 series holders. The DTM holders are p/ns H65-xA. AXA holders accept 1/2" shank max (if you have enough compound slide to spindle center line clearance), that is unless you plan on using some Aloris or Dorian oversized holders but that's a different story to tell.

I use mostly indexables (when I had AXA & now BXA) so I preferred to use the largest shank that fit the holders. Only times I used smaller shanks was for clearance issues which was not often for me or certain brazed carbide bits.
