Loctitie will NOT cure a thrust issue. It will however lock a bearing on a shaft that is not experiencing thrust issues. Red is generally the prefered strength for an assembly that you may wish to take apart at a later time. Green loctite is considered a permanent seal. I have seen green removed with lots of heat and damage to the originally installed bearing, but it is not recomended for average daily use. I use red both in the bearing cavity and on the shaft with great results. Make sure that your assembly is clean and oil free and remember that loctite works best when applied sparingly. It is an anerobic sealer, which means it cures inn the absence of air. Using excess liquid merely slows the drying and contributes nothing to the quality or durability of the seal. If used sparingly and in a clean assembly it can be considered nearly a permanent job that will require additional tooling and heat to dissassemble at a later time. Hope this helps, and don't forget to post some pics of your project.
