I just acquired an early 10D and am in the process of rebuilding. It has the babbit bearings and the early compound rest which I want to replace. I just ordered new parts from ebay members to rebuild the apron and traverse issues.
I had Clausing send me parts lists for the 10D and the 10F. The compound rest has the same part numbers on both listings. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable. The original 10D had a die cast lower swivel and they damage easily. Mine has a few tweeks. I have seen 10F rest components on ebay but haven't ordered for fear they wouldn't fit.

I had a 10 with both carriages. The lower swivel is the same on both. Mine were cast iron not zinc based.

Thanks for the information. I guess there is some sort of magic place for classifieds, where are they found. As a new member it looks like I'm excluded from viewing them until I have enough posts.

L.Donaldson,

Back to your original question (10" parts interchangability), what is the serial number of your machine?
